this is a painting that I did for my Dad for xmas. The Pohutakawa tree is in full blossom at xmas time in NZ, and the Ta Moko is a copy of the one on the fin of the Paea that I carved and painted,( to which my Dad has the original, carved and painted by my Grandpop.) This gift is to remind us that there is beauty in both the world of light and the world of Darkness, for those that are alive, and our loved ones who have passed.
